Different Strokes brings together Paul Floyd Blake’s photographs of three remarkable female swimmers: Teenagers Danielle Bailey and Rosie Bancroft, both potential Paralympics champions and sixty five-year-old Jane Grant, who took up wild swimming after she lost her right leg just below the knee after a motorcycle accident.
The images challenge perceptions of disability and describe the joy that comes from swimming. A collaborative project in which the swimmers’ words influenced the development of the photographs. The work was commissioned for the Cultural Olympiad.
